Unique cooperation with Southern Africa

Mark Mushiva is a student from Polytechnic of Namibia. He studied for four months at the Aalto University School of Science in the autumn of 2013. “The absence of a rigid power hierarchy between those that learn and those that teach, the exposure to really practical industry experiences and a resonance between courses that reinforce deeper learning, and a higher level of open mentorship", Mark lists his positive experiences.

The student exchange was organised through the UFISA cooperation project that focuses on student and teacher exchange and aims at developing user-centred design of information and communication services for local communities in Africa. In return, Aalto University draws talented and motivated African students to Finland who can later contribute to creating valuable partnerships and networks.
